Congratulations to Prof. Can Li being awarded as “National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Personnel” and to Prof. Nanfeng Zheng as “China’s Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Personnel”

The award ceremony for “National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Personnel” and “China’s Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Personnel” was held on June 2, 2016, 10 high-level leading experts in science and technology and 10 excellent young scientists have been awarded respectively. Among them two iChEM members won the awards, Prof. Can Li, MCAS, iChEM chief scientist of Solar energy utilization and conversion platform, from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, has been awarded “National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Personnel”, and Prof. Nanfeng Zheng, iChEM professor from Xiamen University, has been awarded “China’s Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Personnel”.

Above two awards has been newly added in 2015 by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) under the approval of the Central Committee of the CPC.

“National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Personnel” is the sub-award of National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Workers aimed to praise those who make outstanding academic achievements, contribute greatly to promote development of science and technology, and have great influence among international counterparts, original innovations and breakthrough achievements in major research projects and key research fields, with high reputation and playing a leading role in scientific and technological innovation.

“China’s Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Personnel” is the sub-award of China Youth Science and Technology Award which is aimed to find and foster a batch of top-notch young talents among the excellent young scientific and technological personnel who have potential for taking great responsibility, to encourage these top-notch talents to challenge the scientific frontier, and to motivate them to make huge scientific achievements at their best innovative ages during lifetime.
